About the Role We are looking for a Senior Reliability Developer to join our SRE team. The ideal candidate has been part of developing an SRE team and associated processes, and has strong technical skills. The SRE team expects you to be a strong technical contributor drawing upon a mix of software development and operations experience.  Responsibilities Include: Design, develop and test platform and release engineering tooling (feature flags) which allow developers to reliably and rapidly release new features Design, develop and test software plugins, primarily in TypeScript, to eliminate toil for other teams and enrich organizational data Design, develop, and test cloud infrastructure following best practices in public cloud (AWS) Drive R&D projects through from design to completion by collaborating and communication with various R&D teams Deliver and release shared services to the company, aside from technical requirements this involves using company wide communication channels and writing clear and concise documentation for the services our team supports Triage and debug production incidents, and participate in blameless postmortems Mentor junior and intermediate developers with a focus on code quality, maintainability, reliability and scalability We value a culture of sharing, so every team has the opportunity to share their work with the entire department during our monthly R&D Demos. About You You’re an experienced software developer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges with little to no guidance. You care about writing quality code that is maintainable. Working collaboratively in cross-functional teams is your thing. Colleagues look to you for guidance on software development best practices. You should have experience in many of the following areas: Working in an SRE/Release Engineering team to reducing toil for R&D teams and managing large-scale services Full stack software development using modern languages and frameworks (frontend: ; backend: ) Designing, building and running distributed, scalable systems following Agile development practices Using feature flags and other tools for reliable release workflows Developing an internal developer portal, such as (plugin development with typescript, integrations, organizational entity design patterns) AWS technologies including EKS, SQS, EventBridge, S3 and CloudFormation Company wide communication and rollout of services for internal usage; we want individuals who take ownership and deliver shared services to other R&D teams Championing, implementing, and using SLOs, SLIs, SLAs and error budgets Configuring monitoring and visualization systems (Prometheus, CloudWatch, Grafana, etc) Ubuntu or other Linux operating system variants In addition, you have proven leadership experience from previous projects, regardless of title held.
