Summary: I nternal Audit‘s mission is to provide assurance and advisory services across GAF and affiliated entities with objective, practical insights. We work closely with executive and functional leadership to provide organizational value through internal controls, risk mitigation, business process improvements and optimization. As a member of this evolving team, you’ll leverage your business acumen and audit background to identify areas of risk and/or opportunities for efficiencies and make valuable recommendations to improve the overall operations of the company. Additionally, this dynamic role will be committed to partnering with the business to advise and consult on projects in a non-audit capacity, contributing to key enterprise priorities. Key concepts will include the use of technology and systems to further advance the digital transformation of both the company and our IAD group. Our goal is to influence change across both corporate and manufacturing plant functions, while balancing the risks and benefits of key financial and operational processes and controls. Responsibilities will include planning, leading and completing financial, operational and/or compliance audits at GAF and affiliate entities. This collaborative role will work with other team members and business partners to build and/or further develop meaningful relationships and support models. The Audit Analyst will engage with auditees and supporting and/or leading reviews, seeing each step of the audit life cycle through to completion. This includes completion of work papers, review of work papers, drafting audit reports for review and communication with management. A significant metric of success for this role will be to develop into a high performing talent that will be sought out by the business to fill in a future role within the organization. Essential Duties: 50% Planning and execution of audit, consulting, and risk assignments throughout the Company. Demonstrate an understanding of complex financial/operational planning strategies to control issues and recommend creative solutions. Define audit scope and approach, and coordinate planning activities with management and the audit team. Subsequently report all of the findings to management in a concise and cogent audit report. Maintain a comprehensive system for recording all audit plans, work papers, findings, reports, and follow-up audits. Identify opportunities for business process improvements and collaborate with corporate and/or plant personnel to optimize and enact on recommendations. 25%: Provide client assistance to the external auditor for the annual financial statement audit. 15%: Support the development & ongoing refinement of the Internal Audit strategy and departmental infrastructure. Proactively engage with and assist the Manager & Director, Internal Audit in development, design, documentation of IA department policies & procedures. Develop and maintain relationships with clients to address their needs and identify new opportunities for business in both audit and non-audit capacities. This may result in direct involvement with special projects and system implementations. 10%: Participate and play a leading role in special projects as directed. Under This Roof, We Require Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration 3+ years’ experience in an internal audit or public accounting environment, and/or experience within manufacturing environments in an accounting or finance role Experience with SAP a plus Designation of professional license (CPA, CIA etc.) and/or advanced degree a plus.
